Had to just come over here and celebrate with you guys a bit! It's been a while but this is where I started as an Andy fan and all the years of wondering and speculating and being disappointed all seem worth it now, somehow. Makes this moment all the more special. To all of you, Andy's devoted fans, enjoy this moment cause you've had the faith and suffered with him for 7 years and 28 slams so you deserve it as much as he does.

Andy Murray has made it through to the final of the Cincinatti Masters for the second time in his career with a straight sets win over home favourite Mardy Fish.

It was clear from the outset that the crowd were solidly behind the current American number one player. Fresh from his victory over Rafael Nadal, it would be foolish to underestimate the level of tennis Fish would bring to this semi-final.

However, Murray himself came into the match yet to drop a set this tournament and, within the first few games of the first set, showed Fish why. Murray raced to a 3-1 lead and then continued to put pressure on Fish’s serve, forcing further break points at 4-2.

Serving for the set, Murray briefly gave Fish some hope by allowing the American two break points of his own. However, some reasonably impressive from the Scot saw him make seven of eleven first serves and he was able to step up inside the baseline, dictate the final points and take the set.

It seemed his dominance would continue as Murray immediately showed his intent by racing to 0-40 in first service game of the second set. Thanks to a correct challenge on a Fish first serve, he secured that early break. However, this was only the beginning of a most bizarre passage of play. In the second game of the set, Murray served an appalling seventeen percent of first serves to practically hand the advantage and momentum to Fish. Both men managed to hold serve in the following two games, despite whisper of a chance on the Fish serve created by forehand winner from Murray.

Once again, Murray looked to move ahead in the set as a poor game by Fish allowed Murray an easy break. Nonetheless, this would be the first of four service breaks in a row before Fish finally held at 5-4 and forced Murray to hold serve for only the second time in the set to stay in it. Clearly, as Fish’s last two matches had gone to third set tie breaks, he was not likely to give up easily. Yet both men seemed to have found a rhythm on serve and the second set went to an inevitable tie-break.

The inconsistencies of the set continued into tie break as both men traded early mini-breaks and soon the score was levelled at 5-5. An uncharacteristic first serve from Murray set up the first match point. However, it was on the Fish serve and he saved it with a stunning topspin forehand. Fish gained his own set point on the Murray serve at 8-7, but Murray took both of his service points to create another opportunity to win the match.

The drama only continued as a controversial line call on this match point meant that the umpire had called game set and match to Murray before a hawk-eye challenge proved Murray’s return was out. Nonetheless, this seemed to leave Fish floundering and Murray took the second point to set up his first match point on serve and this time makes no mistake. Andy Murray took the tie-break 10-8 to win the match 6-3, 7-6.

This win sets up the eighth Masters series final of his career. Murray achieved his first win at Masters level with an epic victory over Novak Djokovic in this tournament in 2008. Many fans will be hoping that tomorrow will see a repeat of history.

When I was on holiday in Majorca one year we had no power for a day cause he'd crashed his car into a power line. Apparently he foot the bill to get it fixed. Can't really say he planned that to be manipulative

From what I've seen he's really returning well today. That part of his game tends to shine on grass though.

Thought he played well but worried about what he said about the important thing being to get fit for Wimbledon and while playing on it wasn't making the ankle worse, it wasn't getting better. bit worrying.

Andy's playing unbelievable on one foot!

Andy Murray looks set to come back from a slight elbow injury to compete in the Madrid Open this week.

Murray sustained the injury in Monte Carlo last month that forced him to withdraw from the Barcelona Open. However, the British number one has revealed that he has been back practicing for the last week and is ready to take on the world’s best again in Madrid.

Murray also revealed that he has been working closely with Darren Cahill this week following his decision to part company with Alex Corteja. The Australian is a former coach of multiple grand slam winners Lleyton Hewitt and Andre Agassi.

As fourth seed in the tournament he will receive the usual first round bye. He is set to meet Frenchman Gilles Simon or former world top 5 Ivan Ljubicic in the second round.  If he repeats his feats of Monaco, Novak Djokovic is seeded to meet him in the semi finals.

Murray appears in good spirits, saying, "I feel great. I've been practising really well. I feel good again. I've got the right mentality just now. I've been playing very well, so hopefully I can keep that up here. I've got a tough first match, but definitely one I can win if I play well."

Andy Murray posted another disappointing day at the office with a 7-6(4), 6-3 defeat to American qualifier, Donald Young, in Indian Wells.

The American will be delighted with the result and he well deserved his first victory against a top ten player, having hit some fine winners over the course of the match. However, Murray will be disappointed with his own lack of consistency and drive that saw him make a number of sloppy mistakes.

The match started promisingly, with Murray taking the first break of serve to go ahead 2-3. Clever play from Murray and a couple of miss-hits from the American meant this match showed all the promise of a comfortable passage into round three for the Scot. However, Young, spurred on by his home court advantage and the fact he had nothing to lose, begun to play with abandon and Murray failed to consolidate the break.

From that point on, the set was very one sided in favour of Young, and Murray was lucky to make it to a tie break, having faced 0-30 at 5-5. Nonetheless, as tie-breaks tend to go with momentum, it was no shock that the qualifier continued to hit his forehand with venom, and Murray sat down after a one sided breaker, one set down.

The match only continued to get worse for Murray fans as the Scot fell to an early break in the first game of the second set. Still failing to show any fight on the court, he dropped the game to love and was staring down the barrel of a very early exit. But you don't make it as a top five tennis player for nothing, in the following game there was a slight whisper of a comeback for Murray. Young briefly looked to be overwhelmed by the possibility that lay before him and he started to miss the big shots, meaning Murray was able to claw his way back in and level the score.

The positive moments were, unfortunately, short lived, and only two games later, the American managed to take the third break of serve of the match that would prove to be crucial. He finally broke a fourth time to leave Murray stunned and win the match 7-6, 6-3.

All in all a disappointing start to what could have been an exciting American hard court season. After all, at the start of the evening, Murray was the proud owner of six of the last eleven Masters 1000 titles. Murray fans will be forgiven for thinking they've gone to sleep and woken up in 2010 following Murray's early exit from the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells for a second year in a row. They'll be hoping the dejavu of last year's American hard court season doesn't extend to Miami at the end of the month.

Iraq, Egypt...meh!

Not one for Valentines Day myself. My evening will be spent humiliating myself by dancing in front of a hall full of pupils. Christmas Variety show has been postponed till then! I'll probably buy a card, and maybe some heart shaped marshmallows, if he's lucky!

Djokovic dropped a set in the early rounds...

He played very well in the 3rd set. He was slow to start and lost his grip on the 1st when it was important. His serve was a struggle to hold from the start, although he did serve quite well in the tough spots. Backhand was poor most of the match, which was what saw him through against Ferrer. Picked up again by the 3rd set but still deserted him when it counted.

But now, more than ever I believe he'll show up one day and just win a slam. This wasn't it, but it will happen - sooner rather than later. Djokovic was the winner of this tournament since about last Friday!

I just can't even allow myself to contemplate how amazing it would be to see him win this. The hope is just too much. Easier to believe it's not gonna happen, then I'm not disappointed from there!
