terrestrial TV times for David Cup

lol  David, you haven't even got close if you think Barry Davis is bad!

Cowan takes commentating and Studio punditry (is that a real word?) to new levels.

Embarassed  I confess I dont think anyone can come close to John Barrett. Utterly fabulous. He was the old On Digital commentator and absolutely fantastic. (the only reason I subscribed to OD as they were the first to air the whole Masters Series.)

He's married to Angela Mortimer, wrote the definitive book on Wimbledon and used to be deliciously gossipy. I miss On Digital's coverage. It was second only to Wimbledon.

:p And you aint gonna get Becker, Johnny Mac et al commentating on the Masters Series are you?

Cost is no problem, I just feel It would make me watch more TV and I don't want to go down that road yet.

 Very Happy  Willpower!

But if you love tennis it's a must.

I really think I would be unhappy if my Sky went out the window, but my 80+ mum has had it installed and she hates telly. I'm not sure it would have happened if my desire to watch tennis while looking after her, following a fall, hadn't happened. But she doesn't watch more telly, just different stuff.

She thinks, and I agree, that terrestrial TV is useless unless you like all the "....from Hell" or property make over shows etc.

With Sky she gets to watch Cadfael, Morse etc and I get the tennis.

Which makes both of us happy for the short amount of time I'm looking after her.

:P Perrrfect. (as David Jason used to say)

I'm getting Sky installed this weekend and plan to just get Sky Sports for the months where Andy plays in the grand slams. Anyway, Tally, you just got me a whole lot more excited about it Smile

Smile  You'll wonder how you ever managed without it!

Welcome to the world of tennis addicts. Channel 404 will be an automatic choice before you can say "Open Sesame"

But it's totally worthwhile if you a) love tennis or b) want to watch Andy.   :P  Just dont blame me for the tennis addiction that may ensue.  Very Happy

Except for Barry Cowan. I haven't got enough words to describe how much I loathe him. He suffers from verbal diarrhoea when commentating, and as a pundit his banality is second to none.

Nice to see i am not alone there lol
When he is on tv i am either shouting at him or failing that have to mute tv lol

I have NTL so don't get the digital stuff but still hear Cowen.  I don't think Sam Smith is much better either and neither is the presenter (whoever that is Exclamation  Exclamation)  I usually just turn over to Eurosport, although their choice of matches is pretty shocking.  I don't understand why sky have the desire to show adverts every time the players change ends.  It is difficult to get the atmosphere when the coverage is off and on.

Awwww. I like Chris Bailey. I reckon he does quite a good job anchoring Sky's coverage of the Masters.  Very Happy
