Surbiton QF: Andy Murray vs Jason Kubler

Quote

Kubler is a 30 year old Australian player  Despite a promising junior career, which included the junior world No. 1 ranking in 2010, Kubler has spent the majority of his professional career on the lower circuits due to a hereditary knee condition that results in weakened meniscus around the joint, something which  has plagued him throughout his career, resulting in six knee surgeries along with lengthy lay-offs.

Currently ranked No. 69 in singles (highest No. 66) and No. 27 in doubles, Kubler has no ATP singles title and one doubles title.  At this year's Australian Open In the doubles event, Kubler and fellow Australian Rinky Hijikata entered the tournament as wildcards and went on to lift the title becoming only the second wildcard pairing to do so in the Open Era.  As for grass courts, last year in singles he qualified for Wimbledon and reached the fourth round, the furthest he's gone in a Slam, defeating Dan Evans. Dennis Novak and Jack Sock before losing to Taylor Fritz.  At the Hall of Fame Open he claimed his first Top 10 win over Felix Auger-Aliassime and then reached his maiden ATP semifinal where he went out to Alexander Bublik.  His most recent tournament was the French Open where he lost in R2 to Fabio Fognini in straight sets.

Britain's Ryan Peniston, who was defeated him in R2, said afterwards - "Jason played really clinically and he was really tough to break on his serve".

Hoping experience and brilliance do it for Andy today! Kubler not an easy proposition.

BBC a full couple minutes or so behind livescores. Dreadful coverage.

If you think that's bad, you should try the Tennis Channel Plus streamed coverage in the US. Every match including all the slams is a full game behind the live play!
