The two have met on 7 occasions on the Tour as well as in the 2015 Davis Cup final with Andy winning each time. They last met in the quarter-finals of the Sydney International in January 2022. Andy was leading by one set when Goffin retired. 33 year old Goffin's ranking is currently No. 112, his highest being No. 7 in November 2017. Unfortunately since 2018 his career has been affected by injuries and illness. The match is scheduled for third on Stadium 1 today at an estimated time of 11:30 pm GMT.

I’ve seen David Goffin play many times, he’s been around for a long time. Andy can beat him if his serve is on and he stays focused. So cmon Andy beat David and move on to the second round!! You can do this!!!

Nice to see Andy wearing an orange shirt. I don't think he's worn that colour for a very long time.

1st set done and dusted in 34 minutes. Rather unusual, is this too good to be true? A straight sets victory would do Andy the world of good, no 3hr marathon please!
