I didn't watch today but final score was 7-5, 6-2.

Interesting development - if Andy and Dan Evans want to play doubles at RG they'll have to ask for a wild card as their combined ranking isn't high enough for them to get directly into the main draw, the problem being that wild cards are traditionally only given to French pairings.

And the good news is that they have been awarded one, becoming the first entirely non-French men's doubles team to get a Roland Garros main-draw wild card in two decades.

Andy is still down for the singles so far.

I watched this match and it seemed that in the first set, there was no fight in Andy and he went down easy, then to come back in the second set and get broken twice before the rain set in and then to lose.  Anyone have any idea as to what was going on with Andy, is it the new racquet?  Just wondering, or is he just taking it easy till RG.

I can't explain the woeful second set either and nor has Andy given any interviews, but if it was down to his new Yonex racquet, then hopefully he'll go back to Head at RG, because my understanding is that this racquet is very different from the Head one he's been using for years.

Why has he changed to Yonex in the first place? Why now? Does anyone of you know?

No reason given from Andy, other than that after Miami he went to a sports shop and purchased ten different racquets with a view to testing them out,  but you might find the answer here.  Also his current deal with Head has expired.
