BOSS Open R1: Andy Murray vs Marcos Giron

Quote

Too many errors from Andy, too many winners from Giron, who at times has already proved to be able to produce a good run.

5-4 Andy.  Probably too much to hope that he'll get the break now the way G's been serving.

And G does it.  6-4.

My comms were saying that Giron is playing about the best they've ever seen him.

Sad for Andy, he didn’t play badly, Giron was just better. I’m not sure I like this new racquet. Well I enjoy anytime I get to see Andy play win or lose as time is short to see him play.

Looked like flawless tennis from Giron.

Think Murray is clutching at straws switching his racket in his final few months on tour. The reality is he's not good enough to compete and win matches at the highest level anymore.

As fans, we need to let Andy play as long as he wants to, whether he plays good or bad. And if you no longer enjoy seeing him play, you just don’t watch him anymore. None of us have the right to say what Andy should do with his tennis life.

I agree.  Just leave Andy in peace to end his career his way and not anyone else's

Jack Draper defeated Giron 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 in the next round.  While Giron's game wasn't quite as flawless as it was against Andy, it was still a tough match.  They also played each other in R 1 of the AO with Jack winning in five.
