I think that we should do this tournament just one round at a time. The standard is high. I am sure that Andy will enjoy playing Fognini again, we certainly will as I expect a high level of skill on display.

Exactly. Mind you, Fognini hasn't had a very good year so far and dropped out of the top 100 after withdrawing from both MC and Madrid. |

Injury seems to be plaguing players right now, especially the older ones. Fognini will have the crowd behind him, but Andy often rises well to that kind of challenge. |

Fognini has been really bad this year. He's won two matches on the tour since the season begun. He did play well against Alcaraz in Rio for a set and a half though. It could be tricky. Remember the last time they played it got quite heated after Murray accused him of shouting when playing a smash! It's a very funny video and press conference if anyone has a few minutes to spare!

I had hoped the same counter-puncher. Fognini may have had a poor year but he's still going to be a threat here, the only encouraging thing being that he won't be as match fit as Andy is.

Andy expects that Fognini will try to unsettle him again, but is determined not to engage with him like he did in Shanghai.
“That’s probably my bad, I need to just focus on the tennis and stay fully focused on my side of the net when I play against him. I’m sure it will be a good atmosphere with the fans here.
