Andy at the BOSS Open, Stuttgart

The tournament, which is an ATP 250, runs from 10 - 16 June and is played at the Tennis Club Weissenhof in Stuttgart.  Formerly known as the Mercedes Cup, in 2022 the tournament continued under the sponsorship of HUGO BOSS AG, an internationally successful fashion company.

Andy played here two years ago, reaching the final where he was defeated 6–4, 5–7, 6–3  by the defending champion Matteo Berrettini, an abdominal strain hampering his service movement in the third set.  On his way to the final he beat qualifier Christopher O'Connell, Alexander Bublik, the No. 1 seed Stefanos Tsitsipas, and Nick Kyrgios, all of them in straight sets.

The field is headed by Alexander Zverev, assuming he still plays after reaching the French Open final.  While two of the top 20 players have dropped out, it's still quite a strong group.

Meanwhile Andy has had pain-killing injections in his back after it gave him problems at RG.   This though is nothing new if he plays on clay - https://www.express.co.uk/sport/tennis/1906242/Andy-Murray-Wimbledon

The draw is now out.   Andy plays World No. 48, 30 y.o. Marcos Giron in R1, with the prospect of the No. 6 seed Jack Draper in R2, and the No. 4 seed  and defending champion Frances Tiafoe in the QF.

The match is down for Monday, but that could change.

That has Andy down as playing Monday, yet his name isn't down on the OOP, possibly because Giron is playing doubles tomorrow,
