Andy at Swiss Indoors, Basel

Quote

The Swiss Indoors is an ATP 500 held from 23rd - 29th October.

Andy, currently ranked World No. 39, took part last year for the first time in 17 years.  He defeated Roman Safiullin in round 1, losing the first set in the tiebreak before winning the next two, then lost in straight sets to Roberto Bautista Agut in the next.

As Carlos Alcaraz has now withdrawn, the field will be headed by last year's finalist Holger Rune, with Casper Ruud as the No. 2 seed.

Matches can be watched on Amazon Prime.

Speaking of Rune, he has hired Bois Becker as his new coach.

I read about that, but don't know for sure if this is just for a trial period or not because it sounds as those the two have been in contact for a while, at least on an unofficial level.

At his current level Andy should expect a R1 win and a close match in R2, no more. To do better needs the stimulus of winning. This tournament is still at a high standard despite Alcaraz withdrawal.

I am hoping to watch R1 so looking to see him enjoy winning. I am sure that we all want that!
