Andy at Rothesay Open, Nottingham

Quote

The Rothesay Open, or Nottingham Open as it's sometimes called, was originally known as the Nottingham Championships or Nottingham Lawn Tennis Tournament, running from 1887–1967.  After being discontinued in 2008, the Open was then brought back in 2011 to the ATP Challenger Tour and ITF Women's Circuit.  It was briefly re-established as an ATP World Tour 250 event on the men’s tour in 2015 and 2016, before returning to a Challenger event in 2017.  Since 2015 it has been an international event on the women’s tour.  It’s had several different names and title partners over the years, including the John Player Open, Samsung Open, Aegon Open and the Nature Valley Open, the current sponsor being Rothesay Insurance Group.

The tournament is held at the Nottingham Tennis Centre and runs from 12 - 18 June.

Does he play on Monday or Tuesday?

Thanks Aileen, the commentator said yesterday during the match that if Andy wins he goes up to 50 and you're saying he is 70. If you could explain why Andy not too long ago was 41 and has now drop down so much, thanks

Sorry for the confusion Chris.  It's Constant Lestienne, the No. 2 seed, who's the No. 70.

Pepperstone have him at No. 44, having gone down a place despite his efforts at Surbiton, but he did have points to defend from last year.
