Andy, who has been training in Dubai, has entered for the singles as well as the doubles, partnering Holger Rune.
Andy lifted the title here in 2012 and 2013, defeating Alexandr Dolgopolov and Grigor Dimtrov respectively. In 2012 he partnered Marcos Baghdatis in the doubles but they lost to Melzer/Petzschner in the quarter-finals. In 2019 he defeated James Duckworth in round 1 before losing to Daniil Medvedev.
The tournament, which is a joint WTA/ATP one, is held at The Queensland Tennis Centre and runs from 31st December to 7th January.

Amazon no longer have the rights to show tournaments, so matches can be viewed on Sky Sports or on TennisTV, which requires a sub (£9.99 per month, or £89.99 per year). Replays are available on both.

Why partner Rune? What goes into choosing a partner? Wasn't Rune criticised for homophobic comments?

I don't know what goes into choosing a partner but what I do know is that Andy recently spoke very highly of Rune's tennis abilities, so maybe he just decided to partner him in Brisbane. The article I read gave no specific reason for the choice. It was at the Biella Challenger in Italy earlier this year that Rune made these remarks, in Danish, and got fined 1,500 Euros (about £1,300). He later apologised, claiming that the remarks were not directed at his opponent, but were just said randomly in the stress of the moment because he was feeling angry and frustrated.

I like Rune, so hope they will play well together. Shame Its not on Amazon, I'm gonna miss not being able to watch a lot of the tennis on Amazon.

The draw will take place at 9 am AEST on Saturday 30th December (11 pm GMT on Friday).
Andy arrived in Brisbane on Thursday and headed straight for the Queensland Tennis Centre from the airport.

Any tournament in Australia is so hard to watch in the States. Most of the time you have to get up in the middle of the night. Wishing Andy the very best of luck in both singles and doubles. Hopefully it's on Tennis Channel and I can DVR it.

Looking at the Singles Draw, Andy's first opponent will be Dimitrov. The doubles match will be Andy/Rune vs Karatsev/Safiulin. I don't see him on the list for those playing on the 30th.

^ I saw that and thought 'Normal service resumes'!
To get the number 2 seed is not best opener? The doubles will not be easy either.
