Miami dbls R2: A Murray/S Korda vs K Krawietz/T Pütz

Kevin Krawietz and Tim Pütz, the No. 7 seeds who didn't become regular partners until February last year, this season reached the final of Brisbane International, the quarter-finals of the Australian Open and the Rio Open, and the semi-finals of Indian Wells.  In R1 here they defeated Cerundolo/Etcheverry 2-6, 6-3, 10-7.

Is this likely after Andy’ singles?
I suppose weather is a potential disruption again.

Thanks for the update.  It was down for today originally - in fact Eurosport still have it as today - but I suspect all that rain has caused a huge disruption to scheduling.

If Andy is fit to play the match will be last on Court 1 -  estimate around 11:00 pm GMT, depending on when Korda's singles finishes.

Fingers crossed!

Hope he is fit enough and wins with Korda.

He has had such a good run here and was only defeated by the finest of margins. Why not ride the wave in the doubles?

Pleased to see that currently his doubles match is still on the schedule for today. All matches add to him improving his ability to cope mentally with his extreme competitiveness. Believe me, as I am one like that, coping mentally with diminishing success is not easy. A week with five matches I think is excellent and may give him more incentive to finish his career in style!  Although he is not openly happy I sense that he is happier  with his tennis than he has been for a while.
Edited as I am hopeless using iPhones with my laptop in for repair!

Oh dear, what a shame. Do hope it isn't his ankle.

Andy Murray has pulled out of the doubles at the Miami Open after picking up an ankle injury in his defeat to Tomas Machac on Sunday. The legendary Scot was a set down when he levelled things up in the second at 5-5, but pulled up sharply as he rushed towards his chair at the end of the game.

The 36-year-old then proceeded to clutch his left ankle and scream in agony as officials called the physiotherapist onto the court. Remarkably though, after lengthy treatment and having his foot strapped, Murray was able to bravely continue before eventually going down 7-5 5-7 7-6 (7-5) in the third-round clash.

After his defeat, a crestfallen Murray admitted the loss was likely to represent his last match in Miami. “I wasn’t thinking about all the matches I played," he said. "Just more that that’s the last match that I am going play here which is sad because I love it here. I’ve spent so much of my tennis career here and I would have liked it to have gone on a little bit longer."
