Another one from The Sun - SW19 chiefs snubbed our Jamie

WIMBLEDON mixed doubles champion Jamie Murray was snubbed by All England Club chiefs for last year’s event.

At the time, the Scot’s doubles ranking was not good enough and even though he wanted to play with Sarah Borwell, organisers gave the wild cards to more senior Brits and foreign players.

Before last year’s championships, Murray, 21, had been earmarked as a great doubles talent. But because his ranking was a lowly 202, he was not allowed in the mixed event.

However, he was given permission to team up with Colin Fleming in the men’s tournament.

If that first story's true, Alan... and it sounds a tad bogus...then I'm going off Jelena slowly. The poor lad is clearly besotted, but he's played a blinder by courting her live on the telly. Now, if she spurns his advances (or rips the pash), she gonna look like she mighta been stringing him along.  Think
BTW, see Booty's playing with another Brit in Newport. Is that to give Jamie a rest?

Jamie seems a bit of a player though so I'm sure he can handle whatever comes his way.

He left London last week while Jamie was still in the mixed. They weren't signed up for Newport as they might have been through to the final stages of the men's doubles but when they lost Eric teamed up with Hutchins. Jamie's going to LA today and will meet up with him there.

No problem. He (Eric) blogs fairly frequently on Booty and Stretch.com and it's pretty interesting. Although I think that info came from their post match press conference.

lmao You have to give it to the sun - completely useless for facts, but always good for a chuckle. I didn't see much of their playing owing to it not being on TV here, but he didn't seem luve-struck to me. More his usual teasing flirting self.

FAMILY DUELS - Jamie wants brother Andy to win title at Wimbers - but only after he defends his
By Chris Roberts

JAMIE MURRAY has ordered little brother Andy not to win the Wimbledon singles crown until he has defended his own title.

While injured Andy sat out the greatest show in tennis earlier this month Jamie, 21, stole the glory in the mixed doubles with the help of Jelena Jankovic.

And he said: "I'd like Andy to make it a full set and win the singles next year - but only if I defend my title first. That's the real dream. I've got to get some success too."

Why would he want to defend the title first? It's just a friggin' mixed doubles title!

The Jamie Murray forum is a bit dead, what what?  Rolling Eyes

Times article

Extremely revealing article here about his future. Seems he's going to play with former doubles world number 1 Leander Paes. He's in his mid thirties now but he's still firmly in the top 10 and winning tournaments. His playing partner Martin Damm is retiring I think (he is even older). For Paes, playing with Jamie Murray could give him the oomph for a last hurrah himself as well as it being a fantastic learning opportunity for Jamie.

Paes and Damm are 4th seeds at the US Open but are unlikely to meet murray/booty who are scheduled to meet 2nd, 3rd and 1st seeds if they make it all the way - so i suppose they could meet in the final... (would be weird)

Oh that's an interesting partnership Think

Seems that Paes needs Jamie as much as any suggestions of the other way around. Fourth seeds Paes and Damm have gone out of the US Open in the first round. They were the defending champions so i suppose it shows how far they've gone downhill in a year (which can happen at that age!)
